Lucky was a man who meant different things ti different people. Personaly ,I have been an adent fan of his from when I started hearing him preach. And unfortunately , the things he preached agaisnt were the same thing that took him from us . In his Taxman album he complained about the police and indeed ,they came late to him if they came at all (tracey chapman). So i pray God to grant Him eternal rest and to help his family with the lost . I really feel for his new babe, because daddy would not be there to play with you as he sang in his soul taker album . To all other brothers and sisters in Africa , let us pray that no one wil kill us untimely because of what we have . God bless Africa( Nkereuwem - nigeria)

It's hard to comprehend the motives of those who undertook the most horrific, unforgetable murder of LUCKY. May the perpetrators meet the most painfull death.

I have been a strong fan of Lucky Dube for as long as I can remember. It was his song- Different Colour-that had been my favourite since i was a little girl. And them i began to like all his songs, when I realised what he was singing about. For all those years, i only knew about Lucky Dune through his CDs and videos. I met Lucky for the first time during a press conference at the Tradewinds Hotel in Suva on his second tour to Fiji in 2005. I went to the press conference with a fellow journalist Vasemaca Rarabici. We were not going to let this photo opportunity pass and we made the most of it. He spoke to me after that and said that he was interested in knowing some of the Fijian words. He also wanted to know how to say "I love you" in Fijian.I didn't know that the words that i taught him during that brief time was going to be used in his concert that night. Our crew from the newsroom were looking forward to the concert. We were all standing at the back of the stage when he arrived. As he came, he instantly recognised me and spoke to me before going on stage. You can imagine how my friends reacted.."Oh my God, he actually knows you," one of them blurted out. And we did enjoyed the night in which he dedicated one of the song to me and my group. And i met him again the following week. It just happened that I was seeing a friend off to LA at the Nadi Airport when he arrived from Tonga for his scheduled concert in Lautoka. Our laminated photo together was also there with me. So I approached him for a autograph and that photo is there at home. It is the first thing that anyone would notice while entering my house. Just because I am a strong fan of Lucky Dube, my five year old son and three year old daughter knew who he was. They kept talking about Lucky Dube's death throughout the week. They wanted to know why someone would want to kill the man who sings a different kind of music. His songs are moving. He came to Fiji during our National Reconciliation Week. His songs were moving. I can say that his trip then was exactly what the country needed. Isa Moce Lucky, i know that you are now in the Land that you always talk about. May God Bless You!!

Didn't He raise his voice high enough for us Singing words of wisdom like a prophet in biblical time Risking be killed by the aparthied regime Now that you got what you wanted You send him back to the almighty without no dignity It's so desturbing that he died in such away He was good to us in every way but we take him down That's the way it is Didn't He performed hard enough for us I guess we can write it on his tomb for a job well done Healing the nation in times of aparthied Risking exile for his own country Now that aparthied is over You kill him Many of us will remember the time we spent listening To his music in hard time Everybody where ever you are remember lucky dube Send condolences to his mother, wife, children and his band (slave) Thats the way it is

We [my wife and I] last saw Lucky Dube in person at a show in Washington DC [Zanzabar Club] on 10/19/03..... and immediately became serious fans of his music and style. I have several of his CD's loaded into my auto CD player and have not changed them in 4 years [and listen to them almost daily]. Lucky was a class act and a true patriot of SA. Sadly, he did not get the proper recognition in SA while he was alive. Now, he is a national hero!! His lyrics were to the point and were words that some did not want to hear.... or have broadcast. However, they were the truth. Lucky puit his heart and sole in his music and it is very moving. It is beyond belief that anyone [for any reason] would brutally murder him [a kind and gentle man with a good heart]. We hope that the investigation gets to the bottom of this brutal act and SEVERELY punishes the culprits. There is far, far, too much crime in SA. Perhaps?? this tragic event will help to drastically reduce it. People - WAKE UP - AND STOP THE CRIMINAL ACTS!! The beloved messenger [Lucky] has been shot.... but will NEVER be forgotten. Sad, Sad, Sad. Rest in Peace dear Lucky. Our condolences go out to Lucky Dube's family and friends.

The nation has been affected by recieving a big blow of loosing our Star Rasta man. I really thundered in my ears to learn of the tragic death of Reggae Star Musician "Luck Dube" who has been so creative in what kind of music to transform to the nation, audiance, or individual. He really cared for the poor, children and unsettlement of people. He choose to focus his music touching on the social life of people, economical and political. It tel us what we are or do e.g "reap what u sow" "mother land" "crazy world" and "victims" etc. Alot of cherished things to be remembered about Lucky Dube I cannot narrate all but I pray The Almighty God to grant him interanal peace and to forgive him his sins. "REST PEACEFULLY LUCKY DUBE". Rita Nalwoga from Uganda

It feels like its not real.I am not sure I believe it totally that he is gone.I keep thinking I will hear a change of events. This is not the best way to die but his memory will not be erased from our hearts. THAT VOICE WILL ECHO FOR SOME TIME JUST LIKE BOB MARLEY'S, Thats what the murderers can not erase.I doubt if their guilt will wear out.

Seeing House of Exile on mtv for the first time. I was blown away by this great talent. I will regret having missed him playing here in Ireland. Waiting for 3 months to get prisoner cd from tower records as no one stocked his music and hearing this excellent cd for the first time. My condolences to his family and friends. You may be gone but your lyrics will be heard beyond the grave. Its so painful that you left us when your music was at the peak.Remember me, I heard the song when I was young 15 years ago, yet up to this day it rocks the charts.I am missing you Lucky. If I were around in South Africa I would have paid my last tribute to you.You worked hard over the years in your life from rags to richies and someone stupid just took your life in a minute.Soul taker will eventually take us all but thats not the way we were expecting.Rest in peace Lucky Dube.I hope and trust that the South African government will teach the world about gun crime!!!!!

The news of lucky Dube came with a GREAT DISBELIEF. Before I heard it I was not in a good mood that day, when suddenly the news was broken to me. This is the third painful death I am now experiencing in my life. I started listening to Lucky's songs when I was 14 years and the MESSAGES I got from his songs were just too outstanding.Till today I listen to his songs and his death has just resurrected a spirit that will never die again. To his murderers MAY GOD ALMIGTHY FORGIVE YOU but REMEMBER YOU WILL PAY WITH YOUR BLOOD SOONER THAN YOU THINK, because the Bible has made it VERY VERY AND VERY CLEAR ABOUT MURDERERS. EVEN IF YOU CONFESS AND ASK GOD AND THE BEAUTIFUL FAMILY OF LUCKY TO FORGIVE YOU, YOU WILL STILL PAY THE PRICE. DID YOU REMEMBER THE ARMED BANDITS THAT WHERE CRUCIFIED WITH JESUS ESPECIALY THE ONE WHO ASKED JESUS TO REMEMBER HIM IN HIS KINGDOM?. JESUS DID REMEMBER HIM BUT HE HAD TO PAY THE PRICE. MAY THE PEACE OF JESUS WHICH TRANSCENDS ALL HUMAN UNDERSTANDING [INCLUDING THE LUCKY'S MURDERERS] LIVE EVERLASTING IN THE HEARTS AND MEMORY OF LUCKY'S ENTIRE HOUSHOLD MOST ESPECIALLY TO HIS GREAT KIDS. ADIEU GREAT ICON BUT YOU STILL LIVE. ELIJAH FROM NIGERIA
