My son walked me down the aisle to Jeff's song; Angel Eyes,it is the most awesome song I have ever heard)...My son
passed on March2 of 2003.....RIP Chris and Jeff...

When I was about sixteen or so, I first heard Jeff's album "See the Light"; and my tastes and perspectives on music were changed forever. My parents listened primarily to country music and so did I. This album guided me on a journey of discovery into the world of blues and classic rock and inspired me to take up the guitar myself. Because of Jeff Healy, I was able to enrich my life with not only his music, but the great blues guitarists before him; guys like Stevie Ray and Clapton, Elmore James, Buddy Guy, Lightnin' Hopkins, and Howlin' Wolf. Thank you for opening the door to a world I never knew existed, a world that changed me and touched my soul.
Tonight I'm going to open a beer, put on a Jeff Healy record, and be thankful that an artist as brilliant and inspirational as this has been a part of my life. Thanks Jeff, you will never be forgotten.

I remember the first time I heard Jeff and saw him play I cried. It was truly beautiful and the feeling he put into his music flowed out directly into my heart. That doesn't happen often. Thanks for the music.

18 years ago my brother-in-law Eric pulled me into blues bij givin me "see the light"
from that day I was hooked. I really loved his music.
In september ´99 I saw Jeff live in Tilburg (the Netherlands). After the concert, an amazing one, Jeff hung out at the bar with his fans. I did´nt dare to bother him, just looked and enjoyed from a little distance.
Eric died a few months later, Whenever I heared Jeff, Eric was on my mind.
Jeff... never to be forgotten

Jeff I know your listening, we have had our ups and downs through our lives. Growing up with you was fun and something none of us will forget. Todd, Eric, Stacey, Stephanie and our mother are in shambles today, Todd can't even speak, The closeness between you was special. I know we will always miss hanging around home playing whatever instrument was near us and laughing and just hanging out. For the people around the world who never knew Jeff on a personal level, let me tell you some things about him, when he was a young guitar enthusiast and was just starting out he took to the guitar like a bee to honey.
He studied hard and learned fast, my wife and I have a daughter "Kristy" who is 8 years old and she seems to have the same attraction to honey like Jeff did. Shes a hell of a drummer and we are so pround of her. Jeff she loves your music and you are her Idol as many peoples as well. I have been shocked so many times of his natority as a musician. One day in Japan I went to a friend of mines house to jam with him and the only songs he knew were Jeffs.
I could talk about you all day Jeff, but I know it will just hurt more & more the longer I type.
We love you so much and are going to miss you more then anything
Christie, Rachel & Derek we feel for you so much

Jeff's was truly a Canadian Inspiration. As I was grew up in Etobicoke, I had heard of his guitar playing in the eighties. I never had the chance to meet him but I saw him play many a times, Victoria, Quebec City and numerous times in Southern Ontario. His light will forever live on through his music. My heartfelt sorrow to his family and friends. His courage during this fight speaks volumes of the man, how long can a man be strong. Rest in Peace Jeff!

I first heard Jeff almos 20 years ago....HE BLEW ME AWAY. His technical abilities were amazing, the voice he gave his guitar was so different. I will miss hearing his music...As an American, I feel for the Cnadain musician who have lost one of their true treasures

I remember seeing Jeff and his band in Halifax,N.S. at a local watering hole called 'Secretaries' in downtown core, he was so awesome! May all musicians that knew or seen him play live, play a tribute to a Canadian legend at your next gig. Raise a glass for Jeff!

Im from canada windsor ont I seein JEFF AT THE DOWN TOWN HE IN WINDSOR ONT HE WAS THE BEST BAND.

by the news of Jeff Healey's passing. We saw him at the Kitchener Blues Festival last August and were completely blown away by his talent. We looked forward to this years line-up, hoping to be able to see him again. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. May he rest in peace.

I was just 5 yrs old when I first found out about him and his music. At that age I somehow knew that something was wrong with his sight.I asked my mom about why he's blind and she told me the story.I got scared of him because even though at 5 yrs old I knew he was blind but couldn't understand why.But that all changed when I saw the video for Angel Eyes for the very 1st time.Immediately,I adored him and his awesome music and since the young age of 5 I never looked back and still today enjoy his great music.I saw him in concert when I was 9 yrs old for my birthday unfortunetly I don't remember any of that concert considering I adored him so I was in a blank stare and quiet the whole concert...so I feel bad not remembering that concert. This sad news shocked both me and my mom when I told her so for a tribute to Jeff me and her sat and watched both concert dvds I have: See The Light Live In London 1989 and Live From Montreux 1999.Great memories of an amazing talented guitarist. Thanks so much Jeff for letting me be your #1 biggest fan forever and always you'll be in my heart and on my mind. R.I.P Jeff Healey (1966 - 2008)

We've lost a national treasure. I for one, am absolutely devastated by the news of Jeff Healey’s passing. I had the privilege of sponsoring Jeff Healey and his Jazz Wizards on the main stage at the Oakville Jazz Festival a couple of summers ago. Needless to say, the concert was a superlative smash and a crowd-pleasing record breaker for the festival. Not only was he a master of his craft and one of the great Jazz Impresarios of our time, he helped perpetuate an important genre of music for the next generation, and the generation after that. He was an international ambassador of purity in the classic form, and one could not help loving his pursuit of excellence and perfection of his art. His work will always be loved by, and accessible to those who understand the intrinsic meaning of talent and genius. I can't tell you how much I will miss his sound and energy at a concert or intimate venue at his club, and the sound of his beautifully modulated voice on the airwaves during his program sojourn at JazzFM CJRT. Young or old, we were all enraptured jazz students under his tenure. We're all lost now. In this, we can be sure that Jeff Healey remains to this day and always will be, a friend to the soul, an icon of Jazz, and an unquestionable legend. Christopher Carnovale

with his devasting delivery and soulfull lyrics,my son and i spent countless hrs listening to jeff.We both are saddened by this loss, and now can only look back at what has been lost. Our prayers to his family and loved ones.Mike Sr and junior Cottom
