I was very young when I watched \The Golden Girls...But always loved the comedy and sarcasism that came from "Dorothy". Bea will be very missed. Thank you for being a friend.

I REMEMBER SITTING NEXT TO REGIS(A TV SHOW HOST) AT A TAPING OF THE GOLDEN GIRLS BACK IN 1990!. I WORK IN THE ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS & WAS SAD TO SEE HER PASSING! AS I WAS THAT ESTELLE GETTY HER CO-STAR WHO PLAYED HER MOTHER IN THE SHOW! MY OWN BELOVED GRANDMOTHER PASSED AWAY AT THE SAME AGE IN 1991 SO I CAN IMAGINE WHAT HER FAMILY ARE GOING THROUGH!

my memory will always be as vera charles in" mame" there is or was nobody that could have given that part any more than she did. i saw a reprise she did on the london stage for a charity do.. with angela lansbury. they stopped the show. i also met her when she came to the brighton festival. and she was so down to earth and natural. and had time for everyone. what a talent what a lady.

I was 36 & in the hospital with Peri-carditis & pleursy. Yes. I was scared. In ICU, I had a tv & flipped the channels. What a comfort to see that the Golden Girls were on. It made me feel like all was going to be ok. As saddened as I was to hear of Bea's passing, I felt blessed to have Bea in my home & my hospital room that day. I will always be grateful & Bea will always have a special place in my heart.

You think that just because you turn on the tv and flip channels that you are lucky to come across something that will catch you eye. But for me and my life everytime I turned on the tv and looked for that one show of the golden girls, they not only brought my life humor but made me realize that anything was possible as long as you had friends that trurly loved you and stuck together through thick and thin. I am 41 and I still have not found my golden girls.I wanted to be one of the golden girls . I just don't know what I am I going to do now. But for her family please know that she was a great lady and a wonderful person and she could never be replaced and I am so sorry for the loose of such a great great individual. THERE WAS ONLY ONE DOROTHY,one of a kind rose.

I found out about your transition through a friend days after the date. I have cried and cried and cried. you mean so much to me and I will miss you tremendously. Never in my life have I felt such sincere grief and loss for someone I've never met. Call me crazy but I'm convinced that what Dorothy stood for in the Golden Girls she stood for as Bea.... and that was absolutely divine. They don't make them like that anymore! I love to watch the re-runs of The Golden Girls! Bea was so funny. That show is a make me laugh no matter what. I have watch Bea throughout my entire life on TV and will sadly miss her wit! The truely is a Golden Girl. May God bless your sons during this time of loss.

It was not long ago that I discovered The Golden Girls and the mesmerizing talent that is Bea. She won't be forgotten but will be terribly missed. I hope that now all the seasons of Maude will come on DVD so at least we can still see you on the screen.

We tend to think of these great performers that their lives will never end. It seems like Yesterday when the Golden Girls were such a hit. The loss I feel is one of tremendous pain. She gave me so many hours of laughter. I just loved her so much. Such a talented woman. RIP Bea. We will miss you so much.

Dearest Bea: I dreaded the day this would come. I am NOT someone interested in HOLLYWOOD CELEBRITIES, but Bea was different. Bea Arthur....everybodies Friend. You will never be forgotten.

i may only be thirteen but golden girls will always be a favorite of mine. i love watching it and bea will be missed by all the golden girls watchers and fans.

I remember watching Golden Girls with my grandma as a young child. Ever since then I watch the television show whenever it is on. I does not matter if I have already seen the episode 10 or 15 times. Every episode is laugh-out-loud funny. When I found out Bea had died I immediately put on the Golden Girls I had recorded and starting watching as a tribute to Bea. I did exactly the same thing when Estelle died. Both Golden Girls will be sorely missed but I will continue to watch the show and enjoy the memories of I have of watching this show with my own golden lady my grandmother.

thank-you for many years of enjoyment through your acting work. my family would watch me, watching you, and see me laugh (along with all the other emotions ) and in some ways they got a deeper insight to me, rather than the rule making working mom, they saw my humor and my passion. sometimes families have a hard time communicating. you said things i couldn't say, emotions i couldn't show. this really did bring us closer. thanks for everything. my deepest condolences to the family and friends of bea arthur. a great actress, and a classy lady.
