I remember Walter as a friend in Wahrooga, both families travelling together in his VW. Later he invited me to join his team at Longburn Missionary College. It is sad news, but we all look forward to the glorious Resurrection Day and renewing friendships in Heaven above.

Kind and caring, unconditionally supportive and loads of fun, I will carry the precious memories of a very special uncle in my heart always. Much love to to Aunty Bet, Greg, Bron, Mark and families.

I have just heard of this ( the photo (appeared on a friend's facebook page) This sad news, brought back a lot of memories of my early adolescence and Longburn College. Best wishes to the family - I remember you all and will be thinking of you tomorrow. From Carolyn Timms

His massive hand lowered me into the water and i sensed that as his voice boomed over my teenage body that the Lord had accepted me as his own. Down the years he always showed interest in where i was and what i was doing. I used to come across him in many parts of the world. He was one of the rare type of an administrator who seemed to be very personal and care. With his passing a whole era as gone. My deeepest sympathy to his dear wife and family.
