I met Phil on the ship sailing to England in 1965 when we were all off to seek adventure and conquer the world. We re-united back in Sydney to where we all returned. We were all so young and carefree even with Vietnam happening, we had some wonderful parties at North Sydney dancing to Bob Dylan and Gordon Lightfoot. Phil was like a big brother, warm and protective, Sadly we lost touch when my life went in a different direction, after his friend Paul was hit by the tram. Fond memories of a lost friend.

Carol Anne and Family I wish to express to you my deepest sympathies. I will always remember the life of a very special person. Phil touched many lives, and the special moments and memories in your life will never change, they will always be in your heart. Fond memories of a person who could change the atmosphere in a room with his smile as soon as he entered. I hope knowing that he was loved by so many will be a comfort to you at this time. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Bernie (Layfield) Koger - LH4 Hong Kong 76-89

Phil, whether it was spending time with our boys, socilaiising with our wives, on the golf course, watching the Swans and the Crows, sharing a beautiful wine, sharing our friends with each other or talking work there was never a time where I didn't marvel at what a delightful, gentle, warm and considerate friend you always were. Will miss you terribly old pal, Chris (and Kerry, Sam and Sarah send their best also)
