I remember how happy Dad would be by just attending a simple football game on a Sunday afternoon or Saturday evening. He looked forward to this. He also liked playing Croquet. He was a member of both Sutherland and Coogee Clubs. Although he was most fond of the Sutherland club. He loved swimming, particular in the ocean. He could swim long distances. He loved walking. He was very uncomfortable when he was restricted by his health. He couldn't walk very far in the last 4 years. Dad was also very fond of Politics and health. He was always reading. He read daily. At the end of his life for the last few years he couldn't read too much, however he was capable of reading a full Sydney Morning Herald front to back daily. I called him daily to support him, and often discussed all types of daily occurrences. He had an opinion on most things but would just say "it wasn't his cup of tea" if he disliked something. I will miss our afternoon chats. I will miss his humour. I will miss his stirring motivation. He was a solid individual that will be so missed. He was very head strong, very seldom would he change his mind on anything, but the few times i recall in particular one time in relation to Politics & family relationships. He would say he got that wrong. He was a cautious man , eager to do something his way, but so often waited to get a nod of approval from me, or mum. He invested his money well. He was a learned man. He loved certain music, the type you hear on 2CH. But would sing along with the tunes, sometimes changing them to mean something completely different, that was part of his humour. He was very protective of his family, often secretly worrying about them. He was always planning his next step. He was a well organised and clean individual. He was super fair and equitable with his grandchildren, he longed for them to achieve great things! We love you dad. You are most certainly in a better place, just keep them laughing!
