Mike's provided us with so many happy memories over the years, one that Mike often related to us was the story about how Peter, Craig and their mates had been out one night and Craig ended back at No.3 Farnell where he crashed out on the lounge. Mike was going to golf early the next morning and Craig's car was in the driveway. Mike managed to get Craig's car keys from his pocket, move the car, return the keys to Craig's pocket and go off to golf without Craig even knowing. It wouldn't surprise me if Craig was still asleep on the lounge when Mike got back!
That lounge was a favourite of Craig's. I remember the time it was Suzie's wedding day, and Craig was giving her away. Once again, the boys had been out the night before and Craig had slept on the lounge. Our first phone call in the morning was to ascertained that yes, he was actually there. Our second some time later was to see if he was awake yet, and our third (the bride-to-be was getting very anxious!) was to please wake him and send him home! Craig, of course, couldn't understand what all the fuss was about!!
I know he wouldn't have changed a single day of his life with Margaret, and while we'll miss the storytelling, the jokes and his generosity, he'll never leave us because he was such a large part of our lives for so many years, and he lives on through Andrew, Peter and Cathie, and then on again through his grandchildren.
His was a life well lived, a memory to be cherished - thanks, Mike. Love, Jan.

Such irony! A few years ago Mike and I were discussing the case of a young 17 year-old girl who had been hit by a golf ball at my golf Club at Asquith. I remarked that it wouldn't be such a bad way for someone our age to go, but such a tragedy for a 17-year old. Mike's reply was 'well, Jimbo, it would depend how you were scoring at the time'. Always the golfer - right to the end. Your scores are right up there with the best of them Mike. Jimbo.
