Not a day goes by when I don't think of you. Of the time when we shared not only a home together but the peace at the end of the day. You taught me many things and even though we had many different thoughts on many different things I try to be as you were non judgemental and loving, guiding people along the path without pushing them in any direction. It is coming up to two years since you left but you are still in my heart. Although my pain is still here I think that you are now at peace because you carried the wheight of many other peoples pain. I will never forget the last time I saw you and how much I loved you. You will always be with me. Love You.

Mark was my physician & my friend for so long I can't remember not knowing him. Because of my international career, I didn't see him for many of the last several years, but knew through mutual friends where he was; what he was doing. You could never forget his warmth & smile. One of the brightest, most intuitive, compassionate and dedicated men I have ever known, and the world is a poorer place without him in it.

I was shocked to hear of Mark's death when I dropped in to a clinic in Lismore where he did many locums. I can hear and see Mark shrugging his shoulders and saying cie-la-vie with that enigmatic smile. We had known each other for just on thirty years !!! Tony.

Marky Mark, I often think about dear Mark. He was very genuine, caring, empathic and laid back., He would pop in to the clinic on his days off in his boat/paint/garden clothes. On days that we had a GP shortage he would gladly help out and even when he poped in we managed him to see one patient. He had the skill & knowledge to manage the more complicated patients. They often mention Mark. I was standing behind the tea room and a nurse mentioned that was where Mark would take his insulin. He would often have a hamburger for lunch or a meat pie and swirl the tomato sauce around. When he first started he was known as the Dr that told patients to increase their salt intake and try a wheat free diet. One day he was eating a sandwich and I said" are you a coealic?" he replied no and we both laughed. He was frequently missing in action sitting in his car getting some "fresh air" . One day his patient told him "drs don't drive crappy cars", a few weeks later we brought a new subaru. He is sadly missed and I am glad to have worked with him and known him. I would of loved to have known him more. He was so interesting! Rest in peace with your kelpies xx

My partner was treated with such kindness and consideration by Mark that he left an indelible impression on both our lives. He is the standard to which succeeding practitioners are helld.

I met Mark at the end of the 1970s because I was close to his sister Elspeth and brother David. When I met him, Elspeth and I were in Year 12. I was gauche, overly opinionated and generally clueless. Mark was handsome, urbane, witty, stylish and memorably encouraging and kind to me. In retrospect, he must have often been suppressing a smile at the earnest views I spouted during our conversations, but he never once let on. He treated me as if I were his intellectual equal, which made me pick up my game without even realising what was going on. David and I stayed with him in Sydney several times and, without drawing attention to himself in any way, he was the perfect host (again, by osmosis, I learned how things should be done). I liked him enormously and was very sad to read in the newspaper that he had died--and far too young. He was a lovely man.
