I am the art therapist at Mayflower Nursing Home at Westmead. Every Wednesday for the past year I have had the pleasure of spending an hour in the company of Kathleen. Mrs Healey was a very creative lady. She had loads of talent and skill at watercolour painting. Very methodically, Kath would bring her own art equipment and a picture from which she would draw the flower that she had chosen to depict on one of her beautiful cards. Kath always thought of other people before herself. She would bolster the spirits of other art therapy group members with her cheerful chat and kind compliments. Meditation was important in her life as a source of peace. Kath's delicate washes never quite satisfied her and I was glad when she freed herself up in our last sessions and went abstract! It was an honour to know Kathleen. I send my great sympathy to her family for their loss. Linda Combe
