I was a visitor from the US, working on a project. Karen was a young, glamorous Australian who helped me understand Australia. She laughed until I learned to say Melbun, explained about wingeing poms, would hold her phone up to the window so I could hear the kookaburras singing outside her window in the northern suburbs. She was a warm and wonderful friend. So glad to hear a little of her later life, so sad that she is not here to laugh about it all. We enjoyed happy dinners in Sydney way back then.

Karen was my 'big half sister' ... most often referred to in later life as'No1'. I remember when Karen would come to visit us when she worked for Ansett as a stewardess. My younger sister, Kerrie, and I would stare in awe at this glamorous, charismatic woman we were somehow lucky enough to be related to. Years later my husband, daughter and I spent 5 days in Sydney with Karen. I can't begin to say how much I enjoyed this time. We spent every evening sipping wine and chatting til the wee small hours (Karen always with an ice cube in hers). It didn't take long to realise how alike and how much we had in common .... my husband would describe Karen as an older version of myself .... something I take as a huge compliment!! Our prayers and thoughts are with you Dad, Lel & Graham xxx
Fond memories of hiding behind the couch in Brentwood, WA when Twlight Zone was on TV. They were fun times. Best wishes to her family.
Our memories of Karen go back many years to when Karen was a little tot very much loved by our family. Even then she was a clever little girl with her use of big words in the most appropriate places. In fact she was almost related to us when she and our nephew Ken decided they were going to get married, they were both about 4 at the time. Our sympathy goes to Karen's daughter Lesley-Anne,her Dad Ron and brother Graham.

So very missed and so very loved, by all who had the privilege to call Karen a Colleague and Friend.
Karen was my boss for a short time and proved to be calm, efficient and always available. She was a wonderful person and will be missed by all who knew her. My Prayers and thoughts are with her family.
