I was so sad to hear when the "Doc" had passed away . I worked with Doc at ARV as a registered nurse. My fondest memories are of him trying to con me into getting him a cuppa and a biscuit. He did so many favours for me, was always available. He spoke to all his patients like they were his friends. When I return from maternity leave I will miss his stooping walk with that suit case through our front doors. Bless yoy Joe you were a one in a million. RIP till we meet again in that big surgery in the sky. your friend Kylie Sultana

Dr Joe looked after three generations of our family from my parents John and Iris through to Cathy and myself and our children Kylie and Chris. He was always there when we needed him, a home visit a given when a majority of others thought it a burden. We owe him big time. We all learnt a lot about life, politics, farming and practical down to earth medicine whilst sitting in his rooms. We only found out about his passing when I rang to make an appointment for Kylie. We were shocked to hear that he had passed away and sorry we had not had the opportunity to say good bye. Our best wishes go out to Yvonne and family for this great loss.

Many memories of Joe and his devotion to his patients. Many memories of days with his family who were so special in his life. We were privileged to be cared for by such a dedicated Doctor. Thank you Joe - you were one of a kind. My parents used to say "hello friend and Physician in that order"!

Many years of friendship with the Gangemi family are flooding our memories. Joe cared for both my parents and both of us and our four sons with dedication. His loss to the Medical profession is great - he was one of a kind! Our sympathy and love to the whole family at this time.

His kindness, generosity, understanding and healing ways are going to be missed. He has helped our family for over 30 years. He has called to see us when we are sick, at all times of the day! After hospital treatments and operations he would call to see us.He was not only our Dr but a friend. We will miss his conversations, his way of not keeping time, his sense of humour and his philosophy.on life. God Bless Him and His family.

Joe's gentle, understanding, firm but kindly manner with the folk at Anglican Retirement Villages. He was always there for those who were close to death and treated all in a most humane manner. I also remember his generosity in visiting our home to give pain killing injections to my elderly Dad after he had a nasty fall.
