John and I performed in a music group at Cambridge and he was always sensitive, friendly, funny and kind. He had a spiritual quality and a generous personality.

I will remember John for ever, his flat in Trastevere, the summer parties and night walks. Great and honest friend of my youth.

I think John must have been a member of my family. My name is Roger Sligo from England. Although I did not know John I lost my own brother also John Sligo in 2004 aged 51. May both John Sligo's find eternal peace from lifes own torment.
