Joe I rember your laugh. I rember your smile. The last time I saw you We laughed. I rember when you came to see me and my daughter. She wasn't the friendliest of babies but she liked you. I rember her smileing and patting your face. She is 22 now but I still rember. I hope you had the tine of your life, you brought so much joy to others. Rest brother, we'll meet again...............
Not only was I honored to be Joe's friend. I also had the pleasure of being his personal chauffeur. We shared much laughter on trips together as I would arrive to pick him up, I would tell him "your limo has arrived". As funny as he was he'd reply by saying ,"what took you so long". I will always remember the time I tried to give him some advice on a trip back from the dentist,Joe told me," remember Roberta you are my friend not my Mother". Another time he called me on my way home from work. I had a long day he could hear it in my voice. He said, "Roberta I need to be picked up! I'm in San bernadino" I said, "Oh Joe! Ok, I will be right there" He then chuckeled, April fools! What a funny guy! What I will miss the most about Joe is our rides home from Mt Sac. Joe once gave me advice and said," Roberta you must remember to take time out for yourself, relax and enjoy life work and studies that is all good. But you need to take care of you" How sweet is that! I responded by saying,"remember Joe you are my friend not my Father", Ha! Ha! Our sunday's were the best on our way to church. Joe would sit in the backseat with my granddaughter's and talk to them about poetry he even taught them short cuts to learning their multiplications. These memories will always remain in my heart and driving around without Joe will never be the same especially when I travel on the roads we shared together. I recently moved to another town and the last call I got from Joe for a ride I sadly had to reminded him I moved. Little did I know my chauffeur assignment was over and handed to the Lord. My friend Joe got the Father's Best to chauffer him home. Our Lord and Savior.
Since we did not share any classes together, I remember Joe having one of our common teachers, Mr. Griffin, tell me that he liked me and giving me a note from Joe...that was too cute! He truly had a kind heart and was always thoughtful & caring. Even though we did not keep in touch over the years, I am very saddened to know that Joe has left this world of ours. You will be missed by many Saxons #18. :*( My prayers will be with your family Joe.
I will keep the Toledo family in my praiyers and in my heartt. After having lost my beautiful son Samuel I wondered why bad things happened to good people. But with time I know that only God knows and that they are truly in a much better place. Think of Jjoe as your special angel that will be with you. a;ways He is a new angel in heaven. God bless you all
I will miss my brother dearly but will cherish the memories forever. I will always visualize his sparkling smile and genuine laughter. I always liked to see Joe laugh because it was truly from the gut. Nothing about him was fake. He was true and real. He gave us all that he had to offer. Joe, thank you for blessing our lives. We will see you again in heaven. Love you, Sis
My earliest memories of my cousin Joe were of him taking me to Sea World as a kid. I remember feeling special that day. Joe was close to my dad that passed away many years ago and the last few years Joe would call me to remind me of my dad’s birthday. The last time I talked to Joe, he shared with me how much he loved my dad and how much my dad loved me. This really touched my heart, since I didn’t know my dad. He told me that my dad had smiling eyes, Joe too had smiling eyes. Even though I didn’t spend much time with my cousin, the few times that I did were memorable. Love you cousin.
Gosh Joe and that super huge smile of his. RIP Joe and know that you were loved by many just for being you! God really picked a beautiful flower this time....
Rest in peace Joe we now have an angel watching over us with a warm loving smile... Much love to the family, my thoughts and prayers our with you all.
Joe was the eldest of my children all born in May. Joe was very loving and kind, he wrote many poems for my birthday to me and he would bring a single flower often. Even recently he brought me a yellow rose.I will truly miss him and looking into his brown eyes through his long eye lashes. I thank God for the time he allowed me to have him.I know he is smiling and saying I'm alright.
Joe has always had a great smile, a kind hug and loved to tell funny stories about others or something he did. He was so bright and so very creative. He was a student who didn't need to study because learning came so easy for him and his siblings. He leaves a hole in our family and he is already missed even though we didn't always get to see him at our out- of- state family reunions. Knowing Joe, he's already sharing funny stories with Angels.
Though we didn't talk much in school, I will always remember your big smiles while walking down the hallway at school. RIP Joe. And keep smiling. You wear it well. God Bless.
thank you for all the good memories Joe your friend Danial Hirose
Making needle point feathers and selling them at Pow Wow. Having 5 kids down to the beach to find shells and bad storm hit right when we got there, Joe had to make 2 trips to get us all home. Meeting his family and everyones name was some form of Joe...

It's been many years since high school however I do remember Joe's beautiful smile and his true kindness. A beautiful man taken to soon. Thinking of you Brian and your entire family during these very difficult times of sorrow. Prayers and hugs.
Joe was always so cool to me. I remember back in the days going to NHS, he was always so sweet and loved a good joke! He was a great person who will truly be missed. Fly high with the angels. God Bless you and your family.
I have sooo many memories of Joe and hanging out at my house...watching him play football, etc. He was always so sweet and funny and that smile was amazing! He's with God and probably having so much fun right now! Love ya Joe!
I remember no matter how many times I went to Gina's house to spend the night or just hang out. Joe would tease me profusely. I remember one time we were making pancakes and he came in the kitchen and said "What the heck are you guys doing!?!? That's not how to make pancakes! You're doing it wrong!" LOL Joe, you will be truly missed. Gina, I'm glad I got to spend time with you when I came back to Cali. Josie and Brian, I will see you guys soon. I love you all and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Wow I was just talking about him just the other day. I was talking to a friend about how my uncle Robert taught his son Joe joe, and myself a couple of native dances that we would perform at different gatherings in Southern California. We danced a butterfly dance and also a shield dance. I would say we were both maybe about 9 years of age. That is always a great memory of my cousin and myself together. I can also remember coming to Jemez Pueblo for the summers and having fun with Joe and all my cousins. To all of Joe's family my prayers go out to you at this difficult time. He will be missed by me. Love you all.
To all my family, my prayers go out to you all. Love you all
Such a special photo ~ three generations of handsome Toledo men :)
Growing up, Joe and I used to spend a portion of our summers in our village Jemez Pueblo. We would spend hours with our cousins hiking, swimming and riding horses and working in the fields. We always had great full days of adventure, laughter and mischief. Thank you for the memories.
