I met Irene in 1996 when I first started at Hughes, right out of college. I was so nervous to be in the workforce, and Irene was such a warm and kind soul who helped us young ones adjust. Plus she always made us laugh! That made getting through the long work days much easier. One thing about Irene is-you just wanted to be around her...you wanted to talk to her, and listen to her. I know she is missed, and send my thoughts and prayers to all her family and friends.
I first met Irene when I came back to work for Boeing in 2000. A sweeter more sincere bright ray of sunshine has never existed. She will be missed by all those she knew and touched over the years. Irene was not just a friend she was someone whose heart was as big as the outdoors and she never failed to let you into it. We all loved her.
I met Irene in the Mechanism group back in 1996. Right from the very start Irene made me feel welcomed. Irene, Fay, Robin and I would take 50 minute( or more) walks which were really morale boosters for all of us. There was lots of good natured joking and fun. These were good memories for me. Irene had a very young and vibrate spirit and she will be missed.
I never got a chance to really know Aunt Irene. I do remember the hugs when she did visit Louisiana. I know my grandmother Honey is really missing her. Just wanted to say you have my sympathy. Love you Aunt Irene.
Thanks to everyone who has visited and left comments on this memorial site. I am truly touched and uplifted by all of the heartfelt comments. Obituaries for Irene were recently published in the Daily Breeze (Los Angeles South Bay area) and the Houma Daily Courier (My mom's hometown paper). Although I did not know Irene, her son Rick is one of my very closest friends. She must have been a great person and mother because Rick is a tremendously wonderful individual. I was sad that I was unable to attend the service due to a recent surgery, but my thoughts and prayers were with Rick and his family. May the Lord bless and keep each of you. Michael Rogers Visalia, CA
Growing up in Louisiana, I never got a chance to experience life with Aunt Irene on a day to day basis. What I do remember, about her, is EVERYTIME that I did see her, she had the warmest smile you ever wanted to see and the most pleasant persona. I love you Aunt Irene. Rest in Peace. Chris
Indeed sometimes it's the just little things that will forever play in our head about you. Like just seeing you smile, or just hearing the laugther in your voice, but most importantly Aunt Irene; I will always remeber the happiness in your eyes.
I worked with Irene when I first started Hughes in 1979. It didn't take long to realize what a nice and friendly person was, and to everybody. She was the type of person that make work enjoyable with her beautiful smile and sweet disposition. I last saw Irene about 5 years ago and didn't have time at that moment to really talk, I wish now I had. My condolences go out to her friends and family, she will be truly missed. God Bless. Paul Hubenet Hughes/Boeing
You will forever be with me in my thoughts and in my heart. Victor Neil
Your sweetness and your grace will never be forgotten, and your love will endure many challenging times ahead. Thanks for being my co-worker at Boeing, as well as my partner as we served together as deacons, you being the leader of Flock #2 at Knox Presbyterian Church. But most of all a friend that I could share life experiences with. And certainly someone that I could cry with, as well as joke and act silly, regardless of what others might say or think. Even the sanctuary at Knox was not off limits to our fondness to amuse each other, and produce a smile. I guess your sister Frances put it best one Sunday when her and I were walking to greet you in the parking lot. She said " Jeff here comes your partner in crime". And the only crime that you have been guilty of is making us all laugh and smile, what a rap sheet to have entering into the pearly gates of heaven. Thanks Irene "My Deacon Partner". Love Jeff (Deacon Flock # 11) Lawless
Words cannot express the joy Irene brought to the work place. She was a motivator and an inspiration to all. May God bless her and her family. Love, Belisa Johnson Raytheon
Irene, I will miss you more than words can said. Our phone calls, and sundays at church. Your concern of me and family. I will never forget you.
Thank you son for this beautiful website tribute for your mom. I truly enjoyed viewing it. Will see you soon. Love, Dad, Lucy & Brittney.
I love you Sweetie. I forgot to show my name on the previous tribute. Georgia J. Mitchell
My love for Irene is too great to measure. She was my baby sister and will forever remain in my heart and my life. I am missing her so much and I ache with a pain in my heart that only she can release. Sleep well my sister. God is good and hHe will take care of you. I love you.
I was blessed to have met Irene while working at Hughes. Irene was truly one of God’s gifts to us all. Irene had a twinkle in her eyes and a fabulous smile. Irene was loving, caring, compassionate, friendly, inspirational, and humorous. Irene always had a hug for everyone. Memories of times spent with Irene will forever remain in my heart. God Bless, Love, Sarah.
I loved to call Irene...:my suger lump" because she was sooooo sweet, humble and kind. Beautiful inside and out. I served with Irene on the Deacon Board at Knox and can't tell you how much I loved being someone she loved. She was my friend and I will never forget her loving smile...and they way she would light up when she talked about her son and her sisters..actually everyone in her family. God loves you Irene and I know you are resting in His arms and smiling down on us. Your loving friend, Audrey Brooks
Irene was so supportive and a person who was grounded in Faith. I loved talking with her and worshiping with her. I will miss her dearly.
For several years prior to my retirement in 1996,Irene was in my Engineering Support Group. She was by far the most respected and loved person in the group. After my retirement, she became a close and dear friend of my wife and myself. We enjoyed many occasions of chatting, laughing and hugging. I was fortunate to visit and share with her many happy memories just a few weeks prior to her going home to a better place. The trip back home to Oregon and ever since, was filled with memories of our beloved Irene. We will see you again. Love, Jerry and Donna Carlson
My memory is that of knowing that Aunt Irene was well loved by her sister Georgia. My mom's love for her goes so deep that all of her children feel the void it left within her. You are free now and one day we will meet again. Be at peace. God knows best and He loves you. Your niece.
Irene has always been a second Mom to me. She was very much a part of my life we both work at Raytheon Aerospace and also attended the same Church. I always could call her if my Mom was out of Town and needed some Motherly advice. I will never forget her and I know I will see her again up above the heavens.
My dear friend Irene ... I'm sorry I never got the chance to let you know what a true friend you always were to me. Always asking how my family was in a special caring way. I truly was blessed to have been able to work with such a wonderful lady. Your beautiful smile and loving presence was a gift from God. As many have said, you were such a bright light full of love and you will never be forgotten! God bless your family at this time. Right now, heaven is rejoicing in having a beautiful angel come home.
A good friend told me about her passing and as she described Irene, there was only one person that I remember that was always smiling smile when you would see her - I will miss her. To the family may God bless you and help you at this time. Quoqueze Gardaya - at Raytheon Company
i will always remeber getting my "Daily Hugs" whenever we crossed paths in the halls. Her smile always filled any room she was in. GOD has truly called an ANGEL home to be by his side. She was a great lady and will be missed. Anthony Stansell(co-worker at Raytheon )
I miss her too
Irene left quite an impression on me during the short time we worked together. Every morning, she greeted me with "Hi Sweetie, how are you today" and a big smile. She touched my heart with her warmth and loving nature. The heavens are blessed to have this special angel of a woman with them. Thank you for welcoming me into your life. Leslie Lee
Irene was a dear and true friend. We have known her since she joined Knox Presbyterian Church. We had a great time kidding each other to the point some people wondered if we didn't like each other which is probably true. We truly loved each other with agape love which allowed us the latitude to kibitzing back and forth. We also worked together in spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. Irene will be sorely missed. Even in her last days she was a shining example for those who came in contact with her of the love of God. Irene is now enjoying the fruits of her labor and faith with our Father God. Till we meet again. Lynn and Esther Bridgman
My prayers go out to Irene's family. She was the kindest person that I have ever met. She will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure to meet and know her. I will miss her smile most but she cared so much for so many people.
I am honored to have to have known her and she has truly touched my life. Her compassion and caring for others is unprecedented and I will miss her more than words can say. Susan Hoebbel Raytheon
My Friend Irene, I'm going to miss your "big smile" and you "welcoming warm spirit." I will always remember our lunch time walks around bldg. E1 and our talks about everything under the sun, you would always start off by saying "HI SWEETY" How are you doing and hows your Mama? Irene, you are a wonderful shepard of God's people, and he must be so proud of you. I LOVE YOU IRENE
I will miss you so, but God needs someone to keep everyone in line when he need a break. You have a gift for coming up with the most obscure information that makes my job so much easier. I thank you so much for your help in my difficult research projects. I speak in the present tense because you still live in my world you have simply gone on to a much grander job.....one question who is going to give me cookies now ? Jeff
What a wonderful woman!! I'm going to miss the great neck rubs, hugs, 10 questions before I could answer 1, her vodoo doll threats (most of those pins are mine) and all her "fussing". I used to kid her about charging her time to "L P" (looking pretty). I only knew Irene for 5 very short years and she managed to leave me with a lifetime of memories. I love and miss her. My deepest condolences to the family and thank you for sharing her. May she rest in peace. Her "Bobby" Lamb Raytheon
I was truly blessed to have known Irene. We worked in the same area at Hughes Aircraft. Every time we spoke (phone or passing from building to building), we would always depart cracken-up laughing. When I changed locations, I really missed our moments of joy and her radiating spirit. Irene's "STAR" will shine BRIGHT forever.
My sweet sister you are now in the arms of the angels, I know you will find comfort there. You are gone from physical sight , but I will forever see you and keep you in my heart. I Will love you always.

15 years agoJust one of Irene's many trusted friends wanted to share a photo with you all, the love, kindness, and zest for life that Irene displayed manifested itself into the glowing and fun loving person as we all come to know as Irene T. Williams. Thank you for your love over the years, your unique approach to life was an inspiration to us all. You will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. That alluring smile that God blessed you with, will captivate the hearts, minds, and souls of all the men that are awaiting your arrival at the pearly gates of heaven. Oh what a rejoicing there will be. Thank you my friend and farewell, the glow of love that you displayed will never be extinguish. Love Diane,Faye,Robin
