She was more than an aunt to me, she was like a second mother and a close friend. I miss her dearly.

My favorite Aunt was related to both my mother and my father. She was a double Aunt and took to me with a kind heart. Her words were ella ntina kame ton kafe, as she knew I had perfected it the way she had taught me. Her spoon sweets in quince watermelon and grape were sweets of perfection. We always had a jar to take home to Queensland. Her legacy is in our garden. Beautiful hydranges in blue and pink grow profusely in our tropical climate. She actually acquired her first cuttings of these plants from her Aunt Evdoxia in myrniong grove Hawthorn. ,who is my husbbands grandmother. All ladies from Samos have a way with growing plants grapevines fruit trees and olive trees. She will be remembered dearly.
