Debbie or Debo as I called her was an AMAZING person. We first met in 1983 at Curtis Jr. High in choir. The first song I ever heard her sing was The Rose as she played it on the piano. I knew then she was meant for greatness. We kept in touch all these years even with spans of no communication I knew she'd get back in touch and I love her and miss her greatly. When I first read the comments on this page I was devastated. I had no idea she had passed. We hadn't talked in about a year and I Googled her name and came upon this page. After crying for what seemed to be forever, I searched and found her sister on Facebook. We then talked on the phone and she told me what REALLY happened. It is tragic and I will not post it here but it was NOT a surgery gone bad. Debbie had an out of this world voice. She had her own style and made everything unique. That was what made her GREAT. She put her own twist on it. I loved her growly gravelly voice. She sounds like an angel. I am very fortunate because I have all of her originals and covers on CD that she gave me. I listen to them regularly. GOD I MISS YOU SO MUCH DEBO! It hurts so much that I didn't get to say good bye. It has been just over 7 years now since you left this earth and I think of you all the time. I still cry when I think about the loss the world has suffered with you gone and no longer making beautiful music. I know now that you are with your family, all but one. SING TO THE ANGELS AND LET THEM KNOW HOW GREAT YOU ARE. I love you Debo. Always in my heart and on my mind. RIP Best Friend.........

Debbie and I met through a mutual friend in 2005. We exchanged simple rings as a token of friendship and sisterhood. Mine to her was a simple oval shaped opal ring. And her gift to me was a simple single diamond ring. I miss her and think of her often. Rest in peace my Opal Sister. You are in good hands now.

I met Debbie on Myspace more than a few years ago. I went to her place once when she was getting medical treatment at the VA and got her some groceries. I had no idea that she'd passed and would like to know what happened to her. I'm so sorry to learn of this just now. I just found a CD of one of her songs that she'd given me and I couldn't email her since it returned. Please let me know what happened to her. Jim Rogers

Hi Jim, I worked at the VA when Deb was having her surgerys, and we ended up very close friends. I know she had just had a female type surgery, and told me she was going back as they had to adjust something . As far as I can tell, she had her surgery and some sort of infection set in ! She would always stop by Cardiology and say hello each time she was in for something, I had a feeling after not hearing from her for a month or so...........................great great girl ! Always had the next persons welfare in her mind !

I am a life long friend of Debbie. We met in junior high (1983) and stayed in touch all these years. Debbie did NOT die during a surgery. I know the true facts from her family. Please don't dishonor her by saying she passed doing something she wasn't doing.

I had know Debbie and her sister for a long time, since Middle school in Tucson az. She after leaving the Navy, she watched my daughter Sandra while I went into Basic Training for the Army in 1994. I knew the person that she married was a photographer/ cameraman for Channel 9 I think it was. I had been with her a couple of nights before her sister came up missing and we went to the memorial at the Reid Park Bandshell here in Tucson and that was the last time we saw each other. I truly miss her alot. God Bless and I will keep on trying to find her sister Dianas killer out there if it wasnt prion. I hope it was not the fiance, or the other guy(teacher). OR it could have been both. I think it was a jealous person, you know who that was. If you know anything about how to get ahold of her parents, please let me know, I send my condolences. write me at beaupresn@yahoo.com. KIT and Debbie RIP.

Debbie was more than a friend to me, she was part of my family… An old Navy friend lost for years only to be found again. Even though 17 years had passed since we last spoke, it was like that time was just a blink in time, and she worked her special magic, in her special way. The way only she could, to steal my head and heart, all without even trying. She became part of my heart and family, and she introduced me to hers, her children were never far from her mind or heart, even though she could not be with them. She told me how much they meant to her often, and at times though tears, and how much she wanted to be there for them. My own daughters loved her as a friend as much as I loved her and made her welcome with us. When she wanted to go and chase her dream, I could not stand in her way, but was there for her whenever and however I could. Her music was her dream and her way to bring a better life not just for her but for her sons, daughter and the memory of her sister. I cannot put the depth of my profound loss into words, other than to say that I will miss her smile, her magic and her music. Deb, I will see you in my dreams, with red wine and roses, young and beautiful forever…. …Love Dan… PS: To Josh, Alec, Joey and Vita, your Mom loved you more than anything in this world and will be there in her special way with you always… I know, she told me to tell you she loves you all, always and forever…

I'm so sad to learn of Debbie's passing. My prayers go out to her family and friends. I met Debbie at Pack Em Inn Steak House in Tucson AZ. She was always there to sing karaoke. We became good friends for a time. I did lose touch with her and am happy to read that she chased her singing dream. Myself along with others were the ones to convince her to try singing professionally. She never thought she was good enough. After lots of begging and praising her she finally started recording songs. She was a great lady!!!! Rest in peace Debbie!! Love your friend Ginger.

Debbie, my sis...in spirit. You helped me so much through your love and music. You and went through so very much together. Both of us having lost our sisters to the hands of another. You were an inspiration to me and a wonderful friend. Your beautiful voice was a comfort to me. You were always there to talk to. When I lost my grandson Weston, you knew the pain. I didn't have to explain, you just knew and listened to me. I love the CD you gave to me, your first. I wore out the origonal copy and you gave me another. I will miss you but at least I know that you are now at peace. All of my love to your family and I will think of you often. Your sis'. Shelli

I remember hearing all the love, care and compassion that floated out of your beautiful voice everytime you sang and honored the lives of those that have been taken so unjustly. You always had a kind, strong and determined spirit in your quest to help families and loved ones cope with their grief. I know your positive spirit is still with us and will stay, to help others thru the difficulties that face them. It gives me comfort that you are now with your beloved sister. Take care of each other.

Our Greater Orange County Chapter of POMC was glad that Debbie had the chance to honor the memory of her beloved sister, Diana, at several of our events. Her beautiful voice resounded at the Pier in Huntington Beach for all to hear. I pray that her family will find some comfort in the caring thoughts written on this site.

Debbie [Ladysongbird32] you have given us all your beautiful voice and lyrics that will be treasured forever. The heart and sole that you have given to victims rights movement will carry on and WE survivors have been shown the way by your long time efforts. Now it is our time to let you sing with the angels on the 'Stairway to Heaven'. Justice for Homicide Victims has lost a true treasure that we will not be able to replace. Go in peace as we pray for you Debbie sweet lady!

I knew Debbie from her support of the Greater Orange County Chapter of Parents Of Murdered Children. Specifically, she sang at several of our annual Candlelight Vigils and at the National Conference in 2008. She certainly was blessed with the gift of song and generously shared it with us all.

On January 24, 2009, we held a fundraiser event where Debbie was a special guest. She gave of herself through her singing, she will always be remembered for her voice in prayer that she had dedicated to us and our children. To Debbie, take care of our children in heaven and watch over us as we continue to do the service needed to promote Peace and Education. You will always be in our hearts and prayers.
