I wanted to thank you for the opportunity of creating this site. It is a wonderful idea. Prof David Cockayne, Prof Bruce Thom and Dr Mike Barbetti interviewed me for a position in the N.W.G. Macintosh Centre for Quaternary Dating (a service and research centre affiliated with the Electron Microscope Unit) at the University of Sydney in November 1986. The interview lasted two (2) hours and I was exhausted when I left the inteview, but very satisfied that I had been given plenty of opportunity for the interview panel to get to know me. I hoped that I would be offered the position and David rang me in Adelaide the following day to offer me the position. I worked in the Macintosh Centre from March 1987 to October 1990. During those years I very much enjoyed working with David. I personally found him a very inspirational leader. I was extremely sorry to learn of David's passing and my thoughts are with his family and friends. Prof Colin. V. Murray-Wallace School of Earth & Environmental Sciences University of Wollongong
