I still remember how I enjoyed staying with my Aunty Chris at Lugarno in the school holidays while mum was working. Also how she encouraged me to take up Highland Dancing. What wonderful Christmases we had at Valentine and how she assisted whenever possible, especially for my wedding when Kirsty was bridesmaid. I was so pleased that Chris and Malcolm came to Mum and Dad's 50th Wedding Celebrations as unfortunately that was our last meeting. My best wishes and sympathy to Kirsty for her devotion to Chris on her last journey. Love from Janine, Terry, Keiren and Jaimi'.

hi janine, thank you for the special words and best wishes. i too remember our childhood - christmas time, play dates, holidays, highland dancing lessons at Roselands, dress-ups and many more fun carefree days. it all seems so long ago but at the same time just like yesterday. bbq's and get togethers at valentine are all but memories now, but ones i'll cherish. mum had a great life, i'm sure there wasn't much she hadn't done. but sadly, on wednesday morning 24/2/10, as i kissed her forehead and held her hand, she passed away. eternal peace is now hers. i will miss her .. thanks again to you, terry, keiren & jaimi xx

My memory of Chris is one of the last times that I saw her, and that was the day dad died. A day of such sadness for us all yet even though she had lost her brother is was her that remained strong. This show of courage, serenity, and culture is how I remember her. Our joint love of travel and Uncle Malcolm's interest in the history of the union movement prompted great conversations at a BBQ we shared when Chris and Malcolm lived at Fingal Bay, even though it was the most formal BBQ I have ever attended. (A lady always) To Kirsty and Robert we hope that the wonderful memories that you have will enable you to get through this sad time. hi lorraine, thank you for your memories, kind words and thoughts. i'm so glad you found my tribute page and will always cherish your very kind and true words. mum lived an extroadinarily life, travelled far and wide and married malcolm, the love of her life. She was a soft, gentle, graceful lady who will be missed dearly. thank you once again ..kirsty xx

I remember my dear aunt Chris as an elegant well spoken lady, the beloved younger sister of my farther Jim who now holds her hand at the door step to eternity. I will always remember the time my husband and I were holidaying In Tasmania at Port Arthur we were walking along the officer’s boulevard and I heard the most beautiful cultured voice within the throng of people that could only belong to Aunt Chris, I said to Greg that’s aunt Chris’s voice! Greg said no way, what are the odds of running into the family this far from home and to our delight it was. We had wonderful afternoon with Chris and Malcolm and breakfast with them next day. We are deeply saddened by the departure of Lovely Aunty Chris the wheel of life has turned full circle for her and we who are left will remember her and always love her. "an elegant well spoken lady" - that was christina. mum will be remembered by many people for many things apart from her kindness, grace and gentle soul but i'll remember her for her strength and courage, and her determination to survive and overcome the obstacles she encountered in her amazing and truly inspirational journey called life. sincere thanks again..kirsty xx

Memories of our childhood, teenage years during the War, and our young married life often come to mind with fondness and many a smile. I think about your overseas travelling with Helen when short of money you both slept on the beach at Cairo (what a different world) and how you met your future husband, Malcolm, on the ship when returning home after four years. We had such fun and you were always there for me. Family illness and distance made it difficult to continue the close relationship we had and I deeply regretted that you relocated away from Sydney. If there is an afterlife you will be in very good company and if you hear a band playing check to see if it is Arthur and Stephen having a jam. With love......Janet

A loving farewell to my sister Christina whom we all remember as being a quietly reserved lady who enjoyed a very private and active life whilst she was able to with her husband Malcolm, They enjoyed Bowls together in the Port stevens area until the year 2000 when they moved to queensland to be with their son Robert his wife and her grandchildren ,Chris also had a beautiful daugher Kirsty who shined at highland dancing to which she and chris would travel to various venues across nsw. She was very proud of her children ,it was very sad when malcolm pre deceased her in december 2005. Life was never the same for Chris and she suffered failing health and a terrible loneleness without her mate. Chris left this world after a lingering illness, and our whole family pray that she is now at peace with our family who went before. Always good for some dancing and singing and a jolly good time around festive season with friends and family,who all had respect for her privacy and dignity which was her mark. Our whole family will remember her very fondly with love.

.Aunty Chris an inspirational person ... your calm nature and your beautiful voice... days spent at Lugano woken up by Moss the border collie. the aura of peace that touched all around you. Christmases at Valentine around the pool and garden...I still have a geranium plant that blooms from a cutting from you and Uncle Malcolm . your love of gardens extended to your bushwalking holidays in the snowy mountains. Fingal bay memories of Kirsty spending time with my small children who are now young adults. you have touched many people with your grace and we will miss this grace and dignity but cherish the special memories of you and your life...a life less ordinary.
