Hi Sir, Now in my HSC year, I'll never forget the first day as you frightened us out of our seats in year 7. But we did learn that you weren't a scary man at all, in fact you were one of our most caring and kind teachers. Always getting the class involved and handing out prizes. You gave me a movie voucher on my birthday for being a good student, I used it to watch Iron Man 2. Everytime I think of Iron Man, I think of you. Thank you for not only teaching us for that short period we had you, but for always teaching is many life lessons, especially the great conversations we had during the bush walk in the blue mountains. I hope all is well and that you are smiling from above. Thank you for everything you did for us 5 years ago. M - 7.3 2010

I am so sorry to hear of this. I shared a lot with Chris, he was a wonderful cricketer at uni and played the game the way it should be played with flair, exhuberance and love. I can remember an afternoon when Andrews was bowled out for under 100 against Wesley and thought we had no chance of winning. Enter Chris Pelly who rose to the occasion and did the seemingly impossible and bowled them out taking I think 6 wickets. I am sorry we lost contact in these last years as you had your demons and I have had mine. Thankyou Chris for the friendship we had and the times and shared experiences which would not have happened if it were not for you. My condolances and sympathies to all his loved ones and friends.

I don't know what to say on your birthday, or how to properly honour it ... except that I hope Oscar Wilde's famous quote is true for you, much-loved brother: “Death must be so beautiful. 'To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above one's head, and listen to silence. 'To have no yesterday, and no to-morrow. "To forget time, to forgive life, to be at peace.”

"One of what we all are, Pelly. Less than a drop in the great blue motion of the sunlit sea. But it seems that some of the drops sparkle, Pelly. Some of them do sparkle!" - Merlin to Arthur (full quote from the movie "Camelot" 1967 )

Dearest Pels, Despite only knowing you for the last 3 or so years, I have alot of fond and enjoyable memories together. From the moment I first met you at some music festival, I could tell you were very much the life of the party and could see us being close friends. A close friends we became. We hit it off immediately, having yum cha the next day then having beers to watch virtually any sporting event as well as just any excuse to catch up. You were someone who was so easy to talk to and most importantly someone who really cared, from commentary on the cricket to dealing with life changing events. Mate, you took me into your house including me in all social gatherings, with both your friends and family. In particular I remember us going to see your favourite band Cat Empire with your beloved Kate, watching the Swans both win and lose at the SCG, playing endless games of golf over the weekend, a crazy fun filled trip in Bali where you did Gucci poses and partied harder than anyone and lastly your wedding day where you seemed the most happy, having met the love of your life. Sadly, another memory just came to my head, that of when you shared with me the pains of your illness and how difficult it was to conduct a normal life. I was so shocked and saddened when i heard this, my only hope now is that you are in a better place and free of pain now. You will be in my heart always buddy, you were truly a good friend and someone I could always make time for. RIP and take care my friend. Fowlsie

I met Chrispy at a treatment clinic in Sydney in 2010. We didn't know each other and yet over the next 3 weeks we shared many stories and alot about our personal demons - his was depression ... but on the surface you would never had known, he was such a caring and sensitive and cheeky kind of guy man who had a wicked sense of humour. Chris, wherever you are please know that you have touched many of us with your love and wisdom and big grin. I am so glad to have spent time with you in this life. LotteW

I knew Chris only for a very short time - but during that time he taught me to use my smile - a smile I thought I had lost - and that it is ok to laugh! THANK YOU Chris! I only wish we could still see that most amazing and infectous smile of yours! My family and I were to visit you next year in Melbourne - a trip I will tuly miss. I only wish I could have got to know you longer, and that I had spoken to you recently... I remember a truly amazing man, full of life, laughter, compassion, and the ability to show ones feelings. This is a friendship I already miss, and will do always. My prayers and thoughts for all of us who got to know you, and for your family. In loving Memory Narelle C x

I met Chris during my time at a health clinic last year. Bubbly, honest and articulate with a huge infectious smile. To me he was a person who cared about everyone. My heart goes out to his family as I have lost two brothers to this devastating illness. My prayers and love go to you all. Mark

I met Chris as the love of one of my oldest and truest friends Kate. While I didn't get to know him as well as I would have liked, the little bit that I did get to know I admired. I feel deeply shocked and saddened by Chris' sudden and tragic passing, I can only hope that he has now found some peace. My deepest sympathies are extended to all who love him...Kate, I'm here for you always, I can't imagine what you are going through. Amity

I met Chris later , probably than most of you when I had his engagement party here at my house in Brisbane to introduce him to his country relatives. My family came from as far away as Canada to meet him. He was always a true gentleman , with a great sense of humor. Mary Outerbridge
