Brian was a very special mentor and friend to many of us at TAFE and his contribution to the education sector was vast. He was a good organiser, very knowledgeable and he was firm in his beliefs. His soft side allowed to him nurture many friendships and he was attentive to what was going on in people's lives. he genuinely cared about the people around him and we didn't know anyone who didn't like Brian. His sense of humour endeared so many to him and his sense of fun made him a person people wanted to be around. We loved his cheeky grin and were amused that he was still giving orders to his friends and family when we visited him in Concord hospital...he just loved to be organised. With love and happy memoires of a wonderful colleague and friend- Liz Whitelaw-Adams and Julia Sheppard

He touched our hearts, he made us laugh, he listened and smiled without comment. He left in us a little bit of himself. For that we will always remember him. He will never be forgotten. We will see him again to laugh and have fun. Lorraine and Ian Hewitt

Brian and my mother, Jacqui Walsh, grew up together in Leeton. Although I live in the the states any time I would visit Australia I always spent a great deal of time with him. What I remember most about Brian is his ability to always light up a room by telling jokes and making everyone giggle. He was a uncle figure to me and I will miss his presence in my life very much as well as the great friendship he and my mother shared. I really wish my mother and I could have seen him one more time but I know he is at peace now. Much love Mollie Rose

My memories of Goog go back to Infants School - he was the brother that I did not have. He filled that role well. We love him and miss him. Maureen Horth

I knew Goog for almost 50 years. He was truly unique. He had the quickest wit and the biggest heart. He was extravagant and outrageous and always fun. In Leeton where he grew up he was legendary for pranks, famous phrases and inventing gossip. At one time his favourite way to exit was to declare roundly, always to some respectable matron of the town, "Well I am just going to pull up my pants and go home! " No other kid would have dared or survived but Brian succeeded - they found him endearing and scandalously amusing. Even as an adult he continued to win hearts with his over the top and larger than life claims. He once told my young niece who said she'd like a cake that were she his child he'd buy her the whole bakery and tho' he claimed to her that he was her real father he did not. And she, as we all were, was charmed. Now he is "on the other side"as he'd say, he will be giving them hell in heaven. Bubbles

My sister Joan and I first met Brian while visiting Sidney 20 some years ago. Despite the distance from Vancouver we quickly developed a close friendship. Admittedly this was not a difficult thing to do with Brian. Since then we have been privileged to be a small part of his life. To travel and visit with Brian was always an adventure, free upgrades and/or breakfasts were always in the works as he charmed the staff. We enjoyed many trips with Brian and Alwyn in Australia. We did the Nullabar by train and car. Toured Sidney and enjoyed his hospitality on Angel Rd and Breakfast Point. And a year ago a trip with Alwyn and Brian to Ayers Rock, Alice Springs, Kakado and Darwin. What a great time. Unfortunately my sister was not able to make this trip with me. Brian also visited us in Vancouver. We toured the Rockies, Vancouver Island and took our RV to Las Vegas through his favorite, NOT!!, town of Tonopah, Nevada. And a cruise from Vancouver to Fort Lauderdale and Virginia. What fun we had. He was planning an extended stay and travels with us in September but his increasing illness kept him from fulfilling these plans. A trip with Alwyn and I to Broome was talked about up to shortly before his passing. Alwyn and I will make the trip soon. Brian was a kind, generous and thoughtful friend. We loved him dearly and will miss him greatly. Joan and Jim Mitten
