I got to film a 3d portrait of the man back in the 90s . What a joy work with Bo . The main thing I learned,which he pointed out repeatedly was ... that I didn't know Diddley . I am currently working on mastering this beautiful amazing 3 diamensional portrait tribute image . Anyone who loved Bo is wecome to participate or inquire. Every Rock and R&B guitar player needs to have a minute of silence in tribute to the Master Rythm Guitar Player, Master Bo DIdley. There is hardly a player who hasn't used the famous "Bo Didley" rythm. The Rolling stones and half of the 60s British Invasion built their careers on it. I saw Bo Diddly in 2005 and in 2006 in Portsmouth and Newport News, Virginia.What a performance by one of the greatest if not the greatest guitar player of all time. It was a performance i will never forget, seeing a icon and a rock and roll hall of famer live on stage,doing what he does best. May you rest in peace and continue to play on with all of the other musical legends up in the great musical heaven.God bless Bo Diddly and his music. His memory and his music will be remembered and played forever.

I remember meeting Bo when he would come to little ole Erie, Pa and play in our little club. It didn't matter that there was only 400 people in the crowd....he said he liked small groups.....he still played his heart out and at the end he would do a drum solo that would rival the best. I would drive him around the beach and he would just enjoy the scenery. He would tell me some of his explotes and I would be in amazment that Bo would take the time for me. This man was a Rock and Roll Icon, I saw Bo in 1966 when he traveled in a Pink Cady pulling his band instraments! I have always had a fond memory of talking with him in a small town in Indiana! His imput in the world of Rock and Roll will live forever! We will miss you!

I met Bo in San Diego, California 1982 and what is now called The Sports Arena "Kobeys Swapmeet"... he was doing a little gig that day and i remember hearing his music around my home throughout life so i was so excited! me and Bo became good friends that day and kept in touch for a few years, but being such a busy man back in 1982 we lost touch... I think Bo Diddley is one of the greatest talents of all time. I will never forget my First Bo Diddley Concert. HIs music, will live on in me, and others. Bo Diddley's beat sparked a fire that has lit a glow a Universe. My deepest sympathy for his family.

I saw him in London, a couple of years ago. Nobody of his age should have had half that much energy and enthusiasm. He said that this was his first visit to London in 40 years -- it turned out to be his last -- and I was privileged to be there for it. He also said: "The kids nowadays, they think they invented it all. The think they invented rap. But they didn't -- WE did. Let me give those kids a run for their money". And he DID!!!! I picked the crown icon because Bo was the king. I don't think he ever got the full recognition he deserved, much like the performer I first learned about Bo's turn of health from. One night, playing the Grogg Shop in Cleveland, OH, surf-guitar pioneer Dick Dale announced to the crowd that he saw on television just before coming on stage that Bo had a stroke while performing. An audible moan passed through the room as much of the crowd fell silent. Dale burned down the house playing a cover of Bo's self-titled breakthrough hit. But my best memory of listening to a Bo Diddley tune came a month after graduating college, just a year ago. My college room mate and I completed a tiring move. We collapsed on the chairs in the kitchen of our new place and wanted to relax. Without any electronics set up, we turned to an old turntable his grandparents bought him, both of us music-philes who wanted to hear the original mixes of artists like Diddley or the Grateful Dead. We put on BO DIDDLEY, a record I bought for 2 dollars at a record shop that survived several months fewer than Bo. As the player's speaker belted out the scratchy tunes, "Who Do You Love," "Pretty Thing," and others, we relaxed, too tired to move, and absorbed into the hypnotic world of the Bo Diddley sound. Music never sounded so good. The man knew how to do it. The originator. The master. And now, the greatly missed. God bless you, Bo. God bless.

I first met Bo through my brother, Lee, a keyboard player who worked with Bo in Australia in the eighties. Today, I went searching through my belongings, looking for a fancy gold dress ring that Bo had given to me around 26 years ago. (Bo was like that, a bit of a dad to everybody). I am really glad that I kept this ring in a safe place for all of these years, and I am wearing it today! I last spoke to Bo in the nineties, when he told me that he had been active in assisting disadvantaged people, in particular the Homeless. Not only was Bo the man who put the ROCK into ROCK N ROLL, but he was also a man of compassion and soul. My thoughts are with his family and extended family. Love always Trudy (Lee's sister)

I had a good friend that was a road manager for Bo, he came to play at the westbury music fair on long island and my friend asked to me to come. I got to meet and talk to Bo for 5 min's. He passed this on to me, "Mike if ya gunna play, Be You, don't worry about all the other guys, just be you... no one else can be a better you" I laughed at the time, but I have carried that thought a long time, and have used it in my music life. Somewhere I have a picture of him and I, and I will look for it... He was a great man, besides being a guitarist
