She was always fair,had a great sense of humor and I will never forget her.

Alice had ,several outings in my little 1976 Saab. My favourite memory is taking Alice home from St. James one day ,she did not want to go home yet. So we decided to have a salad roll watching the sea,waves ,little boats and ships.The rolls for so huge she got the giggles.I had towels at hand ,I spread them out to protect our clothes. Such a simple outing but it gave her great pleasure. Iwill always keep my memories of close to my heart. Every time I make a banana cake,wow how she loved banana cake.,I think of our Alice

Hi Libby - and thank you for joining in reflection on Alice's life. Pippy is happy and well. I have very fond memories of Queenscliffe and Point Lonsdale and really appreciate you contribution to Alice's quality of life. Enjoy and keep making those lovely banana cakes!!! You were a central and essential part of Alice's life and lifestyle. Thank you for all of the fun jumble sales which I helped at, helped Alice to prepare for and also bought from.. To everyone who bought her soup and checked on her - thank you. Special thank you to Christine Ramsay who works tirelessly in this community - xxoo. To Reverend Peter Martin for a lovely funeral service.

It was lovely - as usual. Alice threw the idea of a restricted diet to the wind. We ate, drank and enjoyed. She made a very specific comment about how important the Cottage by the Sea is in the Queenscliffe community as we drove back home. We drove to the Point Lonsdale lookout to view the waves and look for ships. Alice's church friend down the road had died a month or so before and she noted to me that she missed her. She reminded me that she did not want to go into a home - which has always been her wish. She stuck to this wish to the end, passing away peacefully in her sleep. Rest in peace and thank you to Denise (the home help) for looking after her to the end - much appreciated.

Alice loved her garden and the birds that visited. She fed the birds regularly but got grumpy when too many pigeons scared off the native birds. The central element of the garden was the agony tree. Her 90th birthday party was held in this garden with family, friends and dogs everywhere. A number of years ago, I bought a kit-pond and put it in the garden for her. She kept wanting to pay me for it but I learnt the trick of putting the money back in her purse without her seeing.

Carmen appears in many of the photos on this tribute. She is the only great grandchild. When Carmen was at after care at primary school she made a beaded necklace. It appears in some of the photos. Alice always wore it when we visited and often wore it to church. Alice did not throw anything out and cherished the personal meaning of gifts, letters and postcards. She held the family history together and protected it for us to see and share when we visited.

Alice's dog - Pip - features in some of the photos. He has gone to live with Charm. I visited the other day and Pip went nuts - running around the house. So he remembered - cute. He is happy and spoilt by his new human companion. Love you Pip - even your terrible breath, little teeth and tummy problems. Sally was Alice's previous dog - very cute, white and fluffy. Then there was arlo who was a dalmation. Arlo became more and more neurotic after Grant (Alice's husband) died. Lovely dog but even the animal behavioural specialist could not help him. Woof to all of Alice's friends, including Rosie dog.

Alice collected many things over the years - all cherished, glued and reglued. On the old Pringle Welsh dresser was a row of pewter mugs. Alice explained that she bought herself a mug for each week she continued to give up smoking. I bought this lot of mugs at auction, and they are now part of my living room edwardian clutter.
