Stan was one of my favourite customers and we always went out of our way to help him with his audio equipment, even to keeping his cassette player going until it fell to bits from the use it got, because all his favourite songs were on tape. In his early 90's, he worked hard for the 2/14th Batt Assoc and it was great to be able to help him get 100 odd VCR tapes prepared for the old warriors commemorating Kokoda. He would come into the shop and say "Can you knock up another 10 tapes for me please" and apologise for any inconvenience. We would have spent however long and some, to help him with this. My son was in awe of his military life. Stan had a little room set aside for his memorabilia, which was most impressive and it didn't take much to get him singing some of his old wartime songs. He had an incredible life, right to the end and will always be remembered by those who came in contact with. The attendance at his funeral, is living testimony to how popular a man he was. RIP Stan

I was privilaged and honoured to have met you Stan. I was privilaged and honoured to shake your hand. A great man, a great true Australian, An Australian hero. A humble and modest man. A man with plenty of wit and a bit of the devil too. You will remain in my memory and heart forever. You will be remembered by many. My condolences to Gloria.
