From the first day I met him on the tender of a steam loco 30 years ago to the last time I spoke to him a month ago it was pleasure. He was a fountain of knowlage on all things steam and life related. I will miss our phone calls and I will miss seeing him driving the woolshed portable. He was a good friend to our family. Good bye Brian you will be missed.

Brian was the best friend and mentor I had. I learnt so much from Brian and will miss him enormously. I cannot express the loss that is felt by myself. I will miss the wonderful humor and knowledge of everything.. I will miss the talks... I could talk to him about anything.. he helped me many times with his advise. Brian, I will miss you terribly...
